The Union BS3621 Rim Lock is a high security nightlatch that has a 20mm hardened steel deadbolt and is now branded under Union. It is a features a BS3621 approved 10 disc cylinder lock and automatically locks when the door closes providing extra security. Furthermore, the cylinder has hardened steel plates, is anti drill for additional security and offers up to 50,000 differs. The disc mechanism provides protection against the lock being bumped open and resists torque attack. The deadbolt is withdrawn by a knob from the inside and key outside, with the internal knob being locked by key only. A snib can keep the latch in withdrawn position, allowing for free entry and exit without operating the nightlatch. This lock is particularly suitable for glass panelled doors.
