- Mul-T-Lock NE14L High Security Padlock Review

Initial impressions were good. The NE14L High Security Padlock is a smart, robust looking lock, with a clever small rubber bumper which stops it chipping paintwork when in use. It felt comfortably heavy and solid. Our farm has been the victim of theft previously, so security is never far from our minds. If it can be opened or moved, it has to be padlocked! I trialled this lock on the main gate, so it was opened and locked numerous times every day. I found it a little fiddley to insert the key, but once in, it turned smoothly and was easy to open one-handed, which is useful when carrying items. The key can’t be removed without locking, which means that it can’t be accidentally re-locked, locking me out or in by mistake. I like knowing that there is full key control, as duplicate keys can only be cut by an authorised dealer upon production of a key cutting card with a unique number. The locks can be master-keyed if you have multiple locks, and I would use this option if I had a few Mul-T-Lock padlocks. The lock has the added security of an anti-drill cover on the base and drainage holes to help prevent freezing. All in all, this lock offered a high level of security, coupled with ease of use.
